Special Commissions

Our accomplished artist at Pot Doodles can produce Aga Splash backs, Sink Splash backs or mural scenes on tiles for bathrooms, toilets, showers etc.

We were commissioned to produce an Aga splash back for a hand made kitchen. The Splash Back was to be the focal point for the client’s new kitchen. We produced a number of colour and black and white sketches following a brief from the client. Once a sketch had been decided upon, we drew up, hand painted, glazed and fired a miniature version of the art work (304mm by 456mmx6mm). This gave the client the chance to see our artistic style and the colour ways we can produce with our range of glazes. Following this, the final agreement was given for the commission to go ahead. Dimensions for the aga splash back space were given by the client. We worked out how many tiles this would take for the space and hand drew the scene onto the correct number of tiles. Once the picture was drawn up it was then hand painted on to the tiles, glazed and fired. Each tile was numbered on the back so that the tiler could hang the tiles in the correct order.
